Fathers and Families Coalition of Utah-FFC of Utah is
501(c)(3) an grassroots organization founded in 2008, an affiliate of Fathers & Families Coalition America-FFC of America. The organization promotes and provides resources on the importance of a healthy male involvement in the lives of children and families. We are committed reaching out and strengthening their services to underserved population of fathers and male family members, providing targeted services and programs that address their role as active partners in growing healthy families. The intent of these efforts is never to detract from the focus on services for mothers, but to add fathers to the service continuum; still this commitment has yet to be fully achieved over the past five years.
Every year, thousands of children live without a biological father in their lives. Without a father figure in child’s life, these children on average end up in states custody, juvenile justice system, and/or prison. What this means is a high rate of crime and physical abuse will continue to increase in our community. These described facts are significant that agencies are overburdened and do not know how to work directly with or reach father figures.
FFC of Utah was founded to assist fathers, youth and women. The organization plans involve partnerships with community agencies, consulting services, and fundraising events. Established affiliates as conduits in developing local and state coalitions that support issues related to the promotion of healthy/responsible fathering. As affiliate organization, FFC of America relies on FFC of Utah to seek personal growth, development and share the importance of a healthy male involvement in the lives of children and families.
The difference between father rights and fatherhood organization
Fathers’ rights organizations tend to be men that have more money. They tend to be men who are going to workout their situations out in a courtroom, and deal with child custody battles. FFC of Utah is a fatherhood organization that tends to work on family relationships, financial matters, father involvement, and fatherhood education and motivating men to become better fathers.
