A Father is a man who actively provides guidance, love and support to enhance the development and growth of children for whom he cares. The Nurturing Fathers Program is an evidence – based, 13-week training course designed to teach parenting and nurturing skills to men. Each 2 ½ hour class provides proven, effective skills for healthy family relationships and child development. NFP has been successfully implemented in Schools, Head Start, Churches, State DSS, Prisons, Halfway Houses, Prevent Child Abuse, Parenting and Counseling Centers, Military, Community Action Agencies and many others. Available in Spanish.

The goal is to provide youth with skills that supports improved interpersonal skills, problem solving, self-efficacy, academic achievement and the skills needed to secure and maintain employment. The Young Parent Prevention Program uses the evidence based Wise Guys curriculum which is an interactive, fun and informative way to help adolescents make wiser and more responsible decisions. The curriculum consists of ten components including self-esteem, values clarification, communication, sexuality, abstinence and contraception, decision making, goal setting, dating violence, sexually transmitted diseases and parenthood.

Providing young parents and youth with a pathway out of poverty and into sustainable employment. Our program offers tutoring, homework help, and a focus on employment skills. In partnership with Horizonte Instruction Training Center and the VOA Homeless Youth Resource Center to offer our “Good Start Truck” food truck, among other programs.
